Your Pricing, Confirmed
Many companies offer early estimates based on the previous year’s rates, then revise those figures once golf clubs, hotels, and transportation providers release their final pricing. In some cases, this policy isn’t clearly communicated, leading to unexpected changes later in the planning process.
Haversham & Baker takes a different approach.
Once your itinerary is confirmed, so is your pricing. If rates increase after that point—as they often do—we absorb the difference, not you.
The one notable exception is a significant shift in currency, which is addressed through the clear and consistently applied policy outlined below.
How We Share the Currency Risk
Because H&B Expeditions are planned well in advance, currency fluctuations are a natural part of the process. But unlike companies that quote their prices in foreign currency—leaving you to shoulder the entire risk—we share that exposure with you.
Your pricing is guaranteed as long as the relevant currency remains within $.05—up or down—of the exchange rate at the time your trip is confirmed.
Here's how it works in real terms:
1. If the Currency Strengthens by More than $0.05:
Should the pound or euro rise significantly after your pricing is confirmed, we absorb the first $.05 of that increase.
For example, if the currency strengthens by $.09, only $.04 of that movement would be reflected in your final cost.
We share the impact so your trip remains as stable as possible.
2. If the Currency Weakens by More than $0.05:
When the exchange rate moves in your favor, we apply the same principle. H&B absorbs the first $.05 of that movement, and your pricing is reduced to reflect anything beyond that.
Returning to the above example, if the currency falls by $.09, your final cost would reflect $.04 drop in price.
We recognize that means we retain the benefit of the initial $.05 swing, but that’s the same buffer we would have absorbed if the market had moved against you.
It’s a shared-risk approach designed to protect your planning from the full volatility of the market, without asking you to carry that burden alone.
If the Currency Stays Within a $.05 Range
When the rate remains relatively steady, no adjustment is made.
In most cases, that means your pricing stays exactly as it was confirmed.
No guesswork, no watching exchange rates—just peace of mind.
Why We Don’t Itemize Your Itinerary
H&B designs complete, curated experiences that include golf, accommodations, and ground transportation. We do not itemize individual expenses, and there are a few important reasons why:
